Our VividStream 24x7 streaming service allows you to stream your
event in real-time as your "webcast" is being produced
- no matter when your event is or how many events you have in a
month. The investment required for the service simply depends on
your maximum number of concurrent listeners or viewers and the quality
of the stream required.
To stream a live event you will need the necessary equipment on
site. This can be as simple as a PC with a Webcam and a broadband
connection through to state of the art video production suites.
The raw output from your cameras is sent to a PC with hardware/software
encoders which compress the data and relay it to our streaming servers.
This single stream is then redistributed to your viewers and listeners
via a hyperlink supplied by us. This link can be placed on your
website and clicking on it will start the video or audio stream
from your live event playing almost immediately with no waiting
for content to download.
The cost of a 24x7 streaming service varies greatly depending upon:
The number of users that are likely to connect to the webcast
The quality of the webcast
The calculator below will give you approximate
costs for this package.
NOTE: Pricing is based on the maximum number of
concurrent viewers / listeners and the quality of stream required.
Rule of Thumb (i)
64 Kbps is perfect for streaming good quality audio, 300 Kbps for
a good quality video stream (this will give the viewer a standard
320x240 viewing screen).
Rule of Thumb (ii)
Most people with a standard broadband connection will not be able
to webcast a live stream of more than 300 Kbps.
It is extremely unusual for a webcast to generate anywhere near
the maximum amount of concurrent users. All our VividStream packages
have a good safety margin to ensure you don't compromise on quality
or end up with a bill for extra bandwidth usage.
Our pricing is based on offering a number of concurrent connections
to your broadcast.
A broadcast can have up to a maximum of 500 concurrent
connections.

We are also able to archive webcasts to enable users to control
the viewing of the webcast in their own time. This provides the
added ability of being able to fast-forward, rewind and replay
as required (on demand viewing), just like a more conventional
DVD player.
