HTML5
HTML5
is under development as the next major markup language from HTML 4.01
and XHTML. The principle aim of HTML5 is to reduce the need for plug-in-based
technologies such as Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight. It is intended
to embrace the diversity and flexibility of HTML as opposed to simply
enforcing a strict set of web standards and as a result is backwards compatible
- this means that most of HTML5 can be implemented straight away.
HTML5 is particularly attractive where Flash is not available, specifically for non-standard computer devices such as the iPhone/iPad and mobile devices using the Android operating system.
If you are looking to target these mediums with your video content we can help - our players now support HTML5 and as such open the door to a new way of streaming your media.
