TYPES
Streaming media file extensions for different streaming file types
supported by PlanetStream are listed below.
Windows Media:
Streamed over the Microsoft Media Server (MMS) streaming protocol.
Playback requires Windows Media Player v6.4 or higher. File extension:
.wmv (Please contact us if you wish to use .wma or .asf file extensions).
RealVideo:
All versions including RealVideo9 encoded at 1Mbps (DVD Quality)
File extension .rm
Flash 4, Realpix, RealText and SMIL: Contact us

QuickTime:
Streamed using the industry standard RTSP with the default player
installed with the Mac OS. File Extension .mov
MP3:
The most common audio format played over the Real Time Streaming
Protocol (RTSP). File extension .mp3
MPEG-1:
Viewable through RealOne and Quicktime players. File extension .mpg
(Please contact us if you wish to use .mpa, .mpeg, .mpv, .mps, m2v,
m1v or mpe formats).
MPEG-4:
ISMA compliant streams. Playback requires an ISMA compliant player
such as the RealOne Player with the Envivio TV Plug-in. File Extension
.mp4
